Paddock Wood Lions Club
Club Information Page.
WHO ARE WE?
· Local people from all walks of life.
· A Club with neighbouring clubs in places like
Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge, Southborough etc.
· Part of a much larger organisation with over
a million members worldwide.
WHAT DO WE DO?
Basically two things:
·We act as a charity.
·We enjoy socialising.
THE CHARITY SIDE
· We raise money locally through tin shakes,
raffles and larger ventures such as Paddock Wood
Carnival, quiz nights, etc.
· We look after local needs (like providing
drug drivers for the local surgery, necessary items to
local needy people, giving toys to needy children at
Christmas
· We help look after larger causes through
donations to our International organisation.
THE SOCIAL SIDE
· We get together once or twice a month (usually
over a pint!) to talk about what the Lions are doing in
our area and worldwide.
· We visit our neighbouring clubs
· We have social get-togethers, sometimes by
ourselves, sometimes with other clubs
· We have developed a network of personal
friends through being in the Lions organisation
WHY DO WE DO IT? … Simply
………
We believe that no matter what our own circumstances
are there is always someone somewhere who is worse off
and would welcome a bit of help. And . . .We like
to meet old friends and make new ones.
HOW DO WE DO IT?
By giving time . . .
· Time to shake a tin.
· Time to talk to people.
· Time to do something for people who need
help
· Time to socialise
